We had a lovely visit from Helena Golden, the Willow Woman. She brought in traditional baskets from the area that were used for teeming and serving potatoes. Helena created replicas which she found in the National Museum of Ireland. We had read about these types of baskets in the Drumeela School section of the 1930s Folklore projects. Helena then taught the 2nd to 6th Class children how to weave their own willow baskets.
